Summer.

Well hello, there gorgeous. I've missed you so! You'll have to forgive me, again (I'm that girl, aren't I?) for being absent for so long. The last few weeks... no, let's be honest here (because here we are nothing if we're not honest), the last few months have been Hectic. Yes, with a capital H.

As you know, I now have a fancy diploma from a highly respected and grossly expensive university. Two of my very best friends in the whole world moved away. I went home for a while and saw my cousin get hitched and two others graduate from high school. I caught up with old friends that I haven't seen in ages. My computer broke. Again. I have the worst luck with these machines. Currently writing from Caitlin's MacBook. And, the latest - I got myself a job!

The job itself is just OK. I certainly didn't graduate with the degree and level of experience I have and think, "Man! I just wanna be a customer service rep!" But, I gotta tell you, I really love this company. The more I learn about it, how it started and where it's going, the more impressed I am with it. And, with a company like this, the potential to change and grow and move up is pretty much unlimited. Oh, and the people? So far they're pretty fucking awesome. Our company summer party was last night and I had a blast. No, I'm not making a ton of money. But it's more than what I was making before -- NOTHING! -- I've got health insurance (thanks Blue Cross!), and I'm having fun.

Other than that I'm just trying to enjoy my summer and suck in every last drop of golden sunshine that I can. I've had a couple great beach days and I plan on having a few more very soon. Some late nights that don't really cool off. The ones where the hair is kind of hazy, your skin is a little dewey and everyone just seems a little sexier than they were the night before. I plan on having some more of those too. Boat rides and roof nights and cold beers. Isn't summer great?

As of Late

Hello my beloved d*tales readers! ('Cause there are oh so many of you out there, right?) So sorry that I've been MIA as of late. Between a trip home, two high school graduation parties, a wedding and starting a new job, I've been a busy little bee. Here are some pictures of what I've been up to!

Building an amazing fort in the living room on Hannah's last night in town.

Kip and Angela's wedding!

My brother and I before the wedding reception.

My cousins and I on the 4th of July.

Fishing at the Lake.

Enjoying the boat and the beautiful weather!

Tomorrow we'll talk about spiedies, but for now I'm going to curl up with a good book and a glass of vino. Later gators.

My REAL Summer Song

Remember when I told you how I couldn't get this song out of my head? How it was my new summer jam? I totally lied. I had no idea what I was talking about. Chalk it up to a temporary moment of insanity. Because this. THIS - "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - is the song of my summer.

I have not stopped listening to this song since the first time I heard it. Summer, sun, lying in the grass, stolen kisses, drinking a little too much, reckless abandon, staying up all night, laughter, feeling good, feeling hopeful, feeling anything, feeling everything...it's all wrapped up in this song. I bought their CD "Up From Below" on iTunes and the whole thing is amazing. They're playing a few different venues in New England this summer and I'm really hoping to go see them. Who wants to come with me?
